Prop Project

Cork LGBT+ Pride Festival PROP Project

Pride Reaching Out Project

The Pride Reaching Out Project (PROP) is an initiative by Cork LGBT+ Pride CLG that aims to reach out to LGBT+ people in Cork City suburbs  and facilitate the establishment of vibrant local LGBT+ communities. Through creating community groups, linking in with local services, and hosting social events in Blarney and Ballincollig, the PROP will bring  resources and peer support to the doorstep of the people who need them, while also creating opportunities for local LGBT+ people to meet, have fun and make friends in a safe, welcoming environment.
Additionally, the PROP aims to increase the visibility of the LGBT+  community in their local areas, promote inclusivity and celebrate the diversity of Cork City and County.

Connection

The PROP aims to give LGBT+ people in Cork City suburbs a chance to meet up and make new friends. By connecting LGBT+ people in  Their areas, local communities can thrive both
independently and as part of the network of the wider Cork LGBT+ community.

INFORMATION

The PROP works to link LGBT+ people with existing services available to them, such as our two LGBT+ resource centres in Cork and the wealth of online resources and events available. Just ask, and we can provide you with information to get the support you need.

EDUCATION

Through facilitating informal discussions and sharing experiences, the PROP is creating an environment where people can learn from each other. This collective learning can foster a sense of empathy and empowerment among local LGBT+ communities.

eVENTS

LGBT+ Group Meetups:
These groups meet weekly in Blarney and Ballincollig and provide a welcoming and relaxed space for LGBT+ individuals to meet, have discussions and socialise. The group is open to adults who identify as LGBT+ or are questioning their gender or sexuality. It is group-led, meaning the group decides what topic to discuss each week. After the group discussion, there is time for everyone to have an informal chat and a cuppa.

Coffee and Chats:
These coffee mornings take place every two weeks in cafes around Blarney and Ballincollig, giving local LGBT+ people an opportunity to meet up and make new friends in a casual, friendly setting.

Walk and Talk:
This informal walking group for LGBT+ individuals meets every two weeks in Ballincollig Regional Park for a midweek stroll and a chat.
